Reddick's co-star on “The Wire,” Wendell Pierce, paid tribute to the late actor on Twitter, describing him as a man of great strength, grace, and talent both as an actor and a musician. Director Chad Stahelski and star Keanu Reeves of the upcoming "John Wick — Chapter Four" dedicated the film to Reddick, stating that they were deeply saddened and heartbroken by his loss.
Throughout his career, Reddick was often cast as tall, elegant, and taciturn men of distinction, frequently dressed in suits or crisp uniforms. However, he was best known for his role as Lt. Cedric Daniels, a straight-laced character who found himself trapped in the messy politics of the Baltimore police department, in the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Wire.”
“The Wire” creator David Simon also paid tribute to Reddick on Twitter, describing him as a consummate professional, devoted collaborator, lovely and gentle man, and loyal friend. Simon expressed that he was deeply saddened by the loss of Reddick, and that it was way too soon for him to go.

Reddick is survived by his wife, Stephanie Reddick, and two children, Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
